Curious about some of the girls featured in our videos?

Here’s a little about them!

Pruitti

I grew up in Thailand as an only child with driven, ambitious parents. Despite pressure to take over the family business, Pruitti chose a more difficult path. She wants to make her own mark on the world, and make a difference too. Pruitti teamed up with the 7 Sisters to encourage girls to go after what they want. “Don’t be afraid to say, I want to do this, and I want to do it my way.”

Imani

Imani is an aspiring actress from San Francisco, California. Homeschooled by her yoga-instructor parents and having lived in Paris and Florence, Imani knows now that what she loved most about her atypical upbringing was her freedom. She teamed up with the 7 Sisters, so she could help other girls own their right to be exactly who they want to be. “Together we can explore what builds us up and what tears us down.”

Amy

is a charismatic, artsy dynamo from Southern California. She’s not what you would expect from a city girl and she sees no reason to change that. Amy has been through a lot—from weight struggles to living with dyslexia- but there were always two constants that helped her through it: art and support from close friends and family. Amy joined the the 7 Sisters to be a supportive figure for girls just like her. She wants to be a rock for girls. “Girl, I’ve been there. And I want to help. Let’s do this together.”

Opal

is Indian American and was raised in Forest Hills, NY. Opal grew up hearing the word “no” a lot. “NO, you can’t wear that. NO, you don’t belong on TV. NO, you could never make it as a Bollywood dancer.” Opal’s parents were not supportive of her ambitions, but thankfully, her desire to prove everyone wrong spoke louder than their doubts. She wants the chance to show the world all the ways that average girls aren’t quite so “average”. “What’s right for you? Where will you be years from now?

Marisa

is passionate about most everything -especially women’s issues, little kids, and social justice. A joyful optimist, Marisa also happens to be the co-founder of the 7 Sisters. In her free time Marisa can be found cooking up a storm in her tiny kitchen. We love Marisa’s appetite for life, friends, family, and of course, food!

Kumbi

Kumbi is an international student and budding fashionista. Because she switched schools (and countries!) numerous times when she was younger, Kumbi found it hard to find her place. Now she’s learned to embrace all that she represents – a double major in economics and mathematics who loves singing, her Nigerian heritage, and the color pink. Kumbi recognizes that women “don’t have to know exactly who they are or what they want to be. The important thing is to discover and learn to love who we are.”
